A custom-made wine rack for a good friend of mine. He wanted
something that fit in a specific area of his town house which matched
his decor. Poplar with a combination of lap joints and biscuit
joinery. Finished with shellac sanded to about 1000 grit and a
home-made cabinet wax of beeswax and turpentine. (I may have used oil
on the wood before the shellac, but cannot recall.) I really like the
resulting tobacco color. A nice way to use inexpensive wood for a
"fine furniture" look.
